What are Book It! Learning Resource Center's policies?

Accepted Answer

Please provide twenty-four hours notice for the cancellation of a lesson in order to avoid incurring the full tuition fee. 
No adjustment will be made for time lost because of the late arrival by a student.  Students who arrive late will only be tutored for the remainder of the scheduled session.  There will be no prolonged session.
 
The student is expected to be prepared for every session by having all materials, utensils, homework, etc., ready and available for the lesson.

What COVID-19 precautions are we taking?

Accepted Answer

Hand sanitizer, table wipes, masks, and tissues are available.
 
We thoroughly and frequently clean commonly-used surfaces.
 
We recommend wearing masks indoors when you are not vaccinated.  Vaccinated tutors are happy to wear a mask when asked to do so.
If the student is exhibiting Covid-19-like symptoms, it is important that he/she does not attend the tutoring session.  Symptoms of Covid-19 include fatigue, fever, dry cough, and difficulty breathing. 
 
Tutor is vaccinated.

What are the advantages of in-person tutoring?

There are numerous benefits to in-person tutoring, which range from developing a strong and trusted relationship between the tutor and the student to greater focus on and engagement with the learning task. The tutor and student can build rapport more rapidly through in-person tutoring. In-person tutors can often see and judge the work and improvement of their students better. The tutor is able to more easily adapt the lessons for different learners and to demonstrate certain skills through in-person tutoring.
